Raj Kundra got emotional at ‘UT 69’ trailer launch event on October 18. The film, which marks Kundra’s acting debut, depicts his experiences in jail on charges of producing pornographic content. The film is set for release on November 3.
Speaking about the trolls targetting his family and his experience in the undertrial jail, Raj Kundra said, “It was painful, especially when you know you haven’t done anything wrong. and you have to face such circumstances. Uss time pe thoda…more than anything else, it was painful for my family. Mujhe bolo jo bolna hai yaar, meri biwi, mere bachcho aur mere family pe mat jao yaar. kya bigada hai aap logo ka.”

‘UT 69’ is an upcoming film depicting Raj Kundra’s time in jail and how he adjusted to the environment. On October 10, Raj officially announced the project by sharing a hilarious video featuring filmmaker Farah Khan and comedian-rapper, Munawar Faruqui. The film will release on November 3.
UT69′ offers a satirical perspective on the real-life experiences of businessman Raj Kundra during his time in Arthur Road jail, a period he describes as his most challenging. The movie brings to life this particular phase from his life, inspired by true events.
There is no doubt that the film has been made to clean the image of Raj Kundra. But even after doing this, the makers did not make anything. It looks like a decent film from the trailer. Raj’s acting may not be good but the filming of UT69 does not look weak. The credit for the story of the film is in the name of Raj Kundra only. The screenplay and dialogues have been written by Vikram Bhatti. The film has been produced by Shahnawaz Ali. According to IMDb, Shahnawaz was also associated with editing of films like ‘Socha Na Tha’ and ‘Waqt’. He has also worked as an assistant promo editor on Shahrukh Khan’s film ‘Main Hoon Na’.

Shetty’s reaction to his acting debut with UT69. While Shilpa was initially hesitant about the idea, he said she later changed her mind and was rather supportive. Raj told News18 that Shilpa thought that the film wouldn’t get made as it was ‘dicey.’

Raj jokingly said, “She (Shilpa) was a few feet away from me when I decided to tell her that I am making a film. I didn’t want to go too close to her.” “I told her that I have a script and was waiting for her answer. When I turned away from her, a flying chappal came at my face. I think she thought that the idea was a little dicey first. Maybe she thought that the film wouldn’t get made,” he added.
Raj also revealed how he convinced Shilpa after a narration by the director Shahnawaz Ali. “He gave her a very small narration. She thought about it and realised that it wasn’t about the case of against the system in any way. She felt it was a very human story.” ”She was very supportive. She asked me, ‘Tu acting kar lega (will you be able to act)?’ I told her that I will be able to since I have done some method acting by going to jail,” said Raj. He also shared Shilpa’s reaction to UT69 and said that she is proud of him.
