Nicaragua’s 23-year-old TV host and model Sheynnis Palacios achieved an important milestone by being crowned the 72nd Miss Universe 2023.

Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua has won the title of 72nd Miss Universe. Shanice Palacios is the first woman from Nicaragua to win this title and this is also her country’s first victory in an international beauty pageant. In this beauty pageant, Australia’s Moraya Wilson was the second runner-up, while Thailand’s Antonia Porsild was crowned the first runner-up. Let us tell you that this year contestants from 84 countries took part in the Miss Universe competition. this competition was hosted by American television host Jenny Mae and Miss Universe 2012 Olivia Culpo besides American television host Maria Menounos.

Miss Universe posted on its Instagram page, “Miss Universe 2023 is Shanice Palacios.” Palacios was crowned by America’s R’Bonnie Gabriel, who won the title of Miss Universe for the year 2022. In this event, American singer-songwriter John Legend performed his popular song “All of Me” at the ceremony.

She has won this beauty pageant, Shennis is also a sports lover

Shennis was born in 2000 and has a degree in Mass Communications. She is also a sports lover and played varsity volleyball for her university. Shennis, 23, grew up in her country’s capital and is an experienced pageant competitor. She made her beauty pageant debut in 2016, when she won the Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016 title. She also won Miss World Nicaragua 2020 and represented her country at the Miss World 2021 pageant held in San Juan, Puerto Rico in 2022. She was part of the top 40 finalists.

Indian representation

From Side Of India  represented by Chandigarh-born Shweta Sharda who made the country proud by securing a place among the top 20 finalists. Sharda’s participation not only added a touch of Indian dignity on the global stage, but also highlighted the diverse and multifaceted qualities of women across the world.

Rikki Kole, 22, Miss Netherlands, advocates for equality and trans rights. Flight attendant Marina Machete broke barriers in the history of Miss Universe 2023 to win Miss Portugal 2023. Both have delivered messages of resilience, love and kindness, marking historic inclusion as the first transwoman contestant at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant, promoting diversity and empowerment.

72nd Miss Universe Contest

The 72nd Miss Universe pageant took place on 18 November 2023 at the José Adolfo Pineda Arena in San Salvador, EI Salvador.
